Just finished Turning Red

The characters are very expressive and that doesn’t really lend well to when they’re paused but that’s not really a problem. The worldbuilding was alright and the palette they used was soft. The whole flow of the story was direct and it gave us a clear goal in mind for Mei and her conflict with her mother can be picked up early on.

The other girls were pretty alright as well though we all know which girl had more screentime. I don’t really have a problem with any of the cast since they range from serviceable (like the dad or Tyler) to enjoyable (like the main 4). The situations that happened early on was peak embarrassment comedy and I’ve done my fair share of media like that. The climax was handled in an interesting way but I liked the resolution. Though, Tyler being in the concert and appearing in the final few scenes was a decision that felt shoved in. 7/10.
